Cut Fruits
Beauty can be found in many things, and this essence is used to inspire many a Project Runway look. Sometimes, what you see at first doesn't seem like much, but looking deeper and approaching it from a new angle can completely flip the way you understand your subject matter.

For this task, designers were asked to create a look that is inspired by the cross section or inside of a fruit of their choice.

You chose quite a simplistic fruit cross section to inspire you and I think you have done it justice. You haven't burdened the outfit with excessive frills or random details, instead you have done everything you can to bring it back to the basics while still working cohesively as a fashionable outfit.

Jared, this week I wanted designers to push outside their comfort zone and choose a fruit that's difficult to work with. Instead, you chose one of the more simple fruits out there. Although I love the color and overall structure of this look, using that hat is a common direction most people would take. What I'm trying to say here is that you've played it safe. Creating an outfit from scratch to resemble a grape doesn't require much thinking. I wanted more details. I know you can do better because I've seen you make amazing outfits. I do appreciate you making something less complex and I love the lighter green effect and the puffy shoulder pads. But is that enough to keep you safe this week?

This look is gorgeous. I think what really hammers this outfit home is the use of minimal colours. You love a back look with lots of layered elements, which can sometimes come across as chaotic, but the way you have drawn inspiration from the blueberry to limit your colour set creates this wonderful illusion of simplicity despite the layers you have working together here. The use of patterns to create intrigue and interest in this despite the simplicity works well for me, and I really like the use of batwings to reference the inner starburst shape on the blueberry.

Ashlyn, like Jared, you chose a more simpler fruit this week. However, you can see more details in this fruit when it's cut. There's more than one color and you can see different designs on it, same for your look. My favorite part about it is the hair attached to the top. It looks like blueberries wrapped around you without being too costumey. I understand the direction you were taking with this overall look except for the pants. I wish you chose a different design that perhaps matches the inside of the grape shown here. Adding those pants made the look more complex because there's so much different details around. Other than that, a nice look.

I absolutely love this outfit. When i first pitched this theme to Peeta before the long term started I gave the pomegranate as an example of a fruit that offered so much versatility, so I'm low key glad someone chose it to use. I really love the balance you have between your fleshy tan colour and the red aril inspired elements. They compliment each other well without becoming overpowering. I also have to say, for me, this is one of the best uses I've seen for this bow ever. As a whole, I think this outfit clearly shows your inspiration, while still looking uniquely fashionable. Well done.

Joel, I really enjoy this artwork presented in front of me. There's so much detail and it's evident that you've put a lot of work into this. The creativity is there.. the bow with red dots, the red gloves, and the overall design. My favorite part of this look is in fact the chest. You've made it look like mushed pomegranates. Pure art! This is the Joel I've wanted to see from day one and I'm very proud you have stepped up your game and thought outside the box this week. I did not expect this from you. Therefore, a job very well done.

I will admit, when you first sent me this look I was a little unsure about the dress. It's so basic for you and I frankly wasn't expecting that, however all your detail sits up in your elaborate shrug/headpeice combo. Like Ash, the minimal colours here have worked really well at clearly showcasing your reference, while still showcasing high fashion elements which can be disconnected from your inspiration source. There is something commercial here while still having your signature twist on it which makes it interesting.

Harry, why am I not surprised that you've managed to pull off yet another great look this week? It's because you have so much attention to detail in your looks that makes your outfits very appealing to the audience and myself. The fruit choice was smart. The overall colors work here especially the structure of the outfit. I love the hair, the headband connecting to the neck and the oversized sleeves. That pose is amazing. The back showing a bit is my weakness in outfits. The polka-dot dress is the right choice for the inside of this fruit. I love the shoes with the same sock color as the sleeves. I expected you to deliver this week and you have not disappointed.

There is a practicality to this outfit. It's very wearable, and I appreciate that, however I feel as though it doesn't have the biggest impact for me. Upon submission you clearly outlined your inspiration for each element and how it showcased the fruit, and for the most part, these references are obvious. One thing I did appreciate was your decision around the hair, reflecting the movement of the layers of the dragonfruit, as they curve inwards and up around the bulb. The eyes however could have been left off, as the shirt was more than enough to reference the seeds, for me the eyes you chose are in contrast with the practicality of your outfit. There are some simple and smart choices here, but I am not sure they are enough to help you stand out from an increasingly competitive set of players.

Rachel, you and Harry both have the same fruit, the dragon-fruit. This is such a unique fruit that at least one designer should've chosen and I'm glad two did this week. My favorite part of this look is the skirt with its rough textures and the chest area with the black dots resembling the seeds. The belt is nice as well. However, I wish you incorporated a different top to go along with the chest area or have no top, just the white with black seeds. It would've probably been more high fashion. Sometimes, less is more. The purse is a nice touch. I would've changed the hair and shoes for this look but that's just me. Overall, an OK job but not excellent compared to some of the other looks this week.

I really like this. I see an avante garde dress which could be worn to a high fashion event. Your inspiration of the pineapple is clear. I really love the piece that extends towards the back of your models head which looks like the texture of the pineapple skin. This look feels as though you have tried many different elements/combinations, before paring it back to the bare minimum of what you need to make it work, and as a result the styling of this outfit from top to bottom works perfectly together. Well done.

Anne, you've chosen a fruit that you can do so much with. There's so many details in both the inside and outside of this fruit and you did not disappoint here. I love this design. I am a sucker for back poses if done correctly. I love the shoulder design with the green tips as you would see on the outside of a pineapple. That alone and the bright yellow rough pieces on the bottom coming out of your skirt was brilliant. Also, the brown details throughout made this look way better. The shoulder piece on the left side is nice to see and also the textures of a pineapple are there. I see rough areas and smooth areas. Also, the spiked green shoes were smart to include in this look to bring it to life. I'm very pleased with this look this week.

I'm not sure I would have been able to pick your source of inspiration by looking at this outfit on its own, but that is not to say it's a bad design. As a whole, this looks like something Uhu would design, which tells me you are watching what other players in this competition are pushing out and experimenting/pushing the boundaries of what you are doing. I really like your use of the hat, I think that shape on top is the best reference you have to the fruit and it fits really well. I do however think you could have done with a different shoe choice, or at minimum, changed them to tie back into your look more effectively.

Chan, I love the fruit you chose. It's very unique and I'm living for the shape of the fruit. However, I cannot say the same about your look this week. I understand where you were going with this. I just feel you've incorporated too much of the white from the inside of the fruit. The look could have done without the white scarf. I will say the white hat was such a smart piece to the outfit because the texture and shape of the white part of the fruit matches the hat. The green and red lining around the hat is nice. I love the look from the neck up and waist down. Although I do like the green lines from the wings, overall you've lost me with the mid section. This is not a bad look. It's good, but not great. I know you can do better.

This look works, but I'm a little underwhelmed. I understand you are busy, however submitting last minute every week to the point where you are unable to even receive feedback is not helping you either. Personally, I find that there is nothing to keep me looking back at this outfit. Maybe some green elements, or some varied red shades would have worked in your favour here. You have the strawberry reference there, but the outfit as a whole just isn't that interesting for me this week which is a shame because you have thrown some stunners out in the past.

Chris, I love strawberries and I'm glad you chose this fruit. However, this presentation is middle of the road for me this week. I will start with the good. The hair is nice. We don't see it often in these competitions. My favorite part is the underwear. It's rippled effects give me strawberry when I see it. Everything else falls flat for me. I wish you chose a different approach to this fruit by adding some green in there along with the small beige pits from the outside of the strawberry to give the look more life. I wanted more details especially at this stage of the competition when we are more than half way through. Should you stay this week, really take into consideration the details you include in your outfits moving forward.

TASK SEVEN VERDICT
We are at the back end of this long term, and as a result, the competition gets tighter. We look forward to seeing what you all submit each week as the submission quality just keeps on getting better and better. With only 2 more tasks before the semi finals, keep putting forward your best outfits because it's going to get harder each week, and a small mistake could be the difference between you staying and going. - Peeta & Elysse

Winner
Congratulations to Joelings for your amazing look inspired by the inside of a pomegranate. Your look was fresh and exciting for us both and we think you deserve to be here.
Shout out also to .Uhu: for having an equal score. This showed us a more commercial side of you and it was great to see.

Elimination
Unfortunately, it is time to say goodbye to doglover53 - you have definitely showcased some strong outfits this season and we hope to see more of you in the future.
While we are sad to see you go so soon, we hope that you continue to work on your outfits and grow, even through this competition.
While you are no longer eligible for the grand prize, you can continue to submit outfits based on the theme after elimination to compete for the Most Improved Designer prize of 100c.

We hope to see you in future short term games inside Habbo, and would happily welcome you back to a future season of Fresh Faces.
